when we carve pumpkins

i get really excited about the fact
that alllll that seedy orange pulp is
growing in secret darkness...
and i get to be the one to expose
it to the light for the very first time.

right now... the inside
of your pumpkin isnt even orange... its black.
just like your blood and your heart.
things only turn colors when light
is shed on them and they are seen.
really and truly seen.

also.. i read once that the
act of observing amoebas will
cause their behavior to change.

isnt that weird?

i know you are thinking
"how do you know what they
are doing if you arent looking?"
i guess scientists are all smart
about figuring that stuff out i dont know.

white pumpkins and black hearts.
delicious
;)

the whole "for something to exist it has to be observed" thing never made sense to me.

i would make a crap scientist.

I need to get some of those white pumpkins!

And I absolutely love your poem. They are so strikingly intense. Beautiful.

oh well, that's all rather intriguing and bewitching. i like making things orange in that case, so i'll be slicing open a pumpkin with gay abandon tomorrow.

Oh, such beautiful words, dear. My parents just brought home some pumpkins and I love the thought of them growing on some unknown farm and their journey to my doorstep!
