You have no idea how much you have really made my night! Today my boyfriend and I spent ages reminicing about our love for this wonderful show we both adored as kids and wondered if we would ever watch it again...so thank you for posting this little tidbit, and indeed the song is lovely...

Hope dear Lamby and Roo start to feel better soon, they are so lovely and look so much like my dear Duchess :)

Love to you and your little fur babies. If I listen to this song again. I think I will cry because it is very beautiful.
I love this video too... I wish we could go back to a time like this again. When life was simple, with natural beauty and fairytale magic.

If only I could step inside this, the way Mary Poppins stepped inside the sidewalk paintings.

I have the VHS of this episode! My mum loved the show when it aired but could only afford to buy one tape, but we still have it and it's so so lovely! I actually like the Beatrix part better than the animated one!

you all are SO SWEET!
thank you so much for the many well wishes
for the kitties..
they get really stressed this time of year...
the neighbor cats come to the windows and taunt them.
they get stress and start licking their fur right off :(
i have them on special food and
they have feliway plug in etc..
but i had to take samples in from their litter box.
all in all..
not really a fun monday...

wish i could say they are doing better
but its a little too soon to tell :(

thanks again for everyones sweet wishes though
it means a LOT! purr purr purr
xoxoxo

I so hope the kitties feel better soon and have a peaceful day today. It's the Spring weather turning the neighbourhood cats into hooligans, I'll guess!

Love this song and I too used to watch this beautiful series. Niamh Cussack was sooo right as Ms Potter :)

Could your kitties have seasonal allergies? I have read that allergies in cats, including those to fleas, cause them to itch so severely that they chew their hair off. I had a dog with the same condition, and the vet prescribed Elavil, which might work okay for cats, but wasn't good for an already aggressive dog. I know stress can also cause licking/chewing, but it may be coincidental that the taunting kitties come around at the same time the itching starts. I'm sure it doesn't help! Anyway, I know you have explored all possibilites, but just wondered if something else that occurs in their environment this time of year might be the cause. Hope they are all better soon!

My siblings and I used to rewind this part of the show over and over again because we loved the song. At times now, after a spring shower has let up and the sun shines brilliantly through the black clouds, I hear this song in my head, but I could not think of where it came from. Now I remember :) Thanks for the bit of nostalgia... love your blog. It always transports me to a happy place of moss and trees and sweet little kitties.

I love this series! I also used to watch this as a kid and recently found the entire box set *unopened* at a thrift store. If you can find a copy they're worth checking out.

We have the video with little Peter and it is my three year old's favorite! The beginning and end are bits of sweet divinity (being a painter and a complete nutter for snail mail, I decorate my envelopes with paintings to brighten up the mail carriers day!!!) well, it starts with her painting in the foxgloves for goodness sake! Then, there is all that gorgeous yellow streaming light through the forest... well, those are my favorites... My little ones favorite part is when Peter is rolling about in Mc Gregor's garden with tummmy ache... oh the mischievious smile he gets!!! giggling at that Peter! Well, writing a small novel here, sorry. Just love how Miriam's voice brightens the day and off I went... geesh still writing, fluffy me. Beautiful day to you! Blessings and forest light with sweet motes to you, Amy
