I love the movies. I just love the musicals.
"But isn't it annoying when they do the last song in the films?" ~ "Why?" ~ "Because you just know when it goes really big... and the camera goes like out of the roof... and you just know its going to end. I hate that. I would leave just after the next to last song... and the film would just go on forever."

--Dancer in the Dark

for me, it is this song

Beautiful Snow White. ♥

You know, I hardly remember the Prince! As a kid I was so envious of Snow White's connection to Nature. What I wouldn't give to have birds hang on my every word and flutter around me all day long. Not much has changed over the years.

Synchronicity! On my loooong commute home from teaching tonight, I listened to The Dangerous Old Woman - Clarissa Pinkola Estes. The story she told was Snow White - a very, very old version. Definitely not the Disney version. It was nice to come home and hear it in a different way. Beautiful, really, I must re-visit that one, its been a good quarter of a century or more... goodness!

Oh, Faerie Finder, you make me laugh! Yes, SW did have bunnies, too. Do you suppose that is the subconscious reason I named my Goldendoodle 'Bunny'? Our relationship is damn close to Snow's and her animals. Scary. I need to think about this!

I live down a wooded lane, and sometimes, when coming home, I imagine little blue Disney cartoon blue birdies flying through the air with background music. It brings back such magical memories for me. Also, made the robin and nest wristies and just adore them. It's the perfect time of year to wear them, and I get complements lots of compliments. I'm now beginning to knit my "fawncho". Love your patterns!

I went with my Aunt and I still have the Snow White dress she made me with the red slits in the sleeves and everything. It was so formative for me. My scene, though, was after she was so scared in the forest and she sits and the animals come. She realizes she was scaring herself, (which I have been doing to myself lately) and she turns the bend and sees the cottage. Friend, that cottage is everything in my mind. The light shafts on it, the simplicity, the freedom, the quaint carvings in each stair. All of it. She knew how to live with grace, clean and tidy up but still made lacy pies to celebrate her new friends. I believe I would not be the same person without knowing that movie and when I think of sleep I think of a glass coffin, never foreboding or spooky, just safe, sacred, waiting, restoration. I always write a book here, kindred girl. sorry, hee hee. Just, leaving you with this, I understand. (smile) Blessings and all the light, Amy
