free rapunzel!

i started a campaign to free rapunzel from her tower.

i braided wool.. plait by plait... up to her window.

but when i reached the top and peeked in,

she was asleep... and with a little white cat on her lap.

she looked so peaceful and content,

that i climbed back down and left her there.

Definitely best to leave her alone if she was asleep with a little cat on her lap. I love the hat, though I can imagine I would be constantly fielding swats from Pasha cat whenever I bent over to do anything!

This morning when I awoke, my owl was settling in her tree. She was all puffed up due to the very cold temperature (I think it was only 5 degrees!) and looked quite large. She was just getting settled close to the trunk, looking ready for a long snooze when a couple blue-jays started outing her. She looked very annoyed and eventually flew off into the forest - a beautiful sight to see.... I hope she found another sunny branch for her day-snooze!

Sleeping with cats-in-laps is a wonderful way to be :)

Fun Hat! The yarn looks so tactile and earthy as if it would blend into nature! Also your little Robin wrist warmers are the ones I want to knit!
You remind me so much of another artist and her blog that I am so fond of and find inspirational.... http://windling.typepad.com/blog/
Do you know of her?

I must say, do you know the wondrous story, "The Girl With No Hands," by the Brothers' Grimm of the calm, selfless, precious heart, who walks through the story with such strength and tenderness? It reminds me of your last photo here where your arms are tucked neatly behind you. The heroine is such a knowing angel of what it is to not be attached to material items and to live free and good. I must say it is a good one. Well, with that little tid bit said, I must tell you that your darling little reds for the chilly hands make me sing, poorly, I will add, but truly. hee hee. I hope the coziness of this hug I send right now reaches you and your beloveds for it is so snowy and damp today and though I love it, hugs are in order for all those that might have a chill. Well, Nate is waking... soft murmurs, I hear. Off to cuddle. Blessings friend and light one.

Thanks for the direction. I've downloaded them.
I just read of you chance meeting with Paul McCartney. Lucky you! I saw him in concert last August for the first time since 1966. (yep, 1966) He is very special. I honestly don't know if I'd find my voice if he spoke to me. You're brave.
